A new section .......... swing analysis software, uses etc
Hi Lynn,
How about we start a Video analysis section.
My initial contribution would be a post on swing analysis software - I have compiled a comprehensive list of software with hyperlinks to the relevant sites.
It is amazing what is available for the money. I am sure it would help with look, look ,look.
Put simply most of us have no real idea of knowing what we are actually doing (without video) but despite that one can hit a nice shot
Next steps would be - starting from ground zero and in priority order - what to check for etc so that we avoid paralysis by analysis.
I have a vision for this and the goal would be to make this the premier source for this type of info on the net - BAR NONE ! This has huge potential in this age of affordable software and computers.
Your thoughts………..

Great idea, Chris. And thanks!
Put this PM up 'as is' in the first section of the Forum (Club Office) under the Forum and Web Site Suggestions thread. Let's let everybody take a look at it. Especially the two guys who would have to make it happen, Bagger and Trigolt.
This is already on our list of things for the site.
We are working on items for the "members-only" premium site over the next few weeks. Swing upload for analysis by Yoda will definitely be an item on the premium site.
What we do on the free site related to swing analysis is yet to be determined.
* Swing analysis sofware for the average Joe is out there and pretty cheap. cSwing and V1 are the two I have experience with. I have used both in analyzing my own swing.
yes I am reffering to the Swing analysis sofware for the average Joe type stuff. software options, what to look for etc, what to monitor when playing back what has been recorded eg. flat left wrist, bent right at impact.
then there is the camera side etc.
can we have a separate section in the free part. I have a few posts ready to go but I do not know where to post them.
Thought it wld be better to have a section for this as I expect it will be a popular thread.
i am not talking about getting one's swing analysed by Lynn etc.

Which of the 2 do you think is better?
Chris
I liked both. The V1 version I tried was just a demo, so I didn't get the full functionality. I ended up buying cSwing because it offered the product via a download and I didn't want to wait for the V1 CD. Check the features of each before you buy. I think they are pretty similar.
Here is my little contribution – a listing of swing analysis software ( not golf simulators )
Some of these seem to offer an incredible amount for a relatively low price. Some of them offer demos or free trial versions. I have not investigated them yet so I am not really in a position to comment on specifics.
If I missed any that you know are currently available then please post here or email me at chrisj@zip.com.au. I will update the list and repost.
It is worth checking EBay when you are shopping as some of these companies sell directly on EBay at a price that is better than the regular price or they include extra bonuses.

If you want the real scoop, give Mark a call at JC Video (800-335-2965) and ask him to discuss the different systems. Have him sell you on why his is better. He's a really straightforward guy...
Not strictly video capture swing analysis software includes things such as motion analysis.
Note that some sites have tutorials and free downloads which can be very informative and useful in their own right.

As you can see I am a fairly organised person
Without getting too far ahead of ourselves yet ........... imagine hitting procedure analysis templates at the touch of a button etc
Every video should be properly shot with respect to camera position etc.
