Jim Fannin: The Zone Coach
I saw this guy, Jim Fannin, a couple weeks ago on The Golf Channel and I bought his c.d. "Get in the Zone." He coaches the minds of a handfull of tour pro's including Charles Howell III and Luke Donald.
The c.d.'s pretty good he has a S.C.O.R.E. method he uses to control your thoughts on the golf course and he says it attracts "the zone."
Just wandering if anyone has any information on this guy, seen him speak, or worked with him.

Never heard of the dude . . .sounds interesting though.
Can you share some stuff you have learned? Check out Pia Nilsson's new book. It's great.
The idea of CD's is good. I like to listen to stuff in my car. How much did the set set you back?

Sounds similar to Clear Key. Is it?

Jim Fannin did a full day school at the golf academy where I work. He and Brian Mogg put on the school for about 20 students. It was very interesting.I enjoyed it, the man is a great speaker. I found most of the info very helpful, as did most of our class. Some were skeptical.
Most of what he teaches is how to get yourself "thinking like a champion" 24-7. Not just when you are playing. He goes over some of the ways champions react to situations, for ex: A-rod of Luke Donald or Jordan. You really need to just see him, but I have the CD's as well and the include alot of the info. But you will miss some of the hands on.
A fun test which he refers to in the CD is the congo line. Where you take the group, everyone gets in line, and you have to make a three footer. You make one then have to wait for the whole group to make before you have to make another. The thing is it is right before lunch and you don't leave till everyone makes 2. It's funny how the pressure changes. He will even get everyone in a cirlce around you to close in and add some pressure. Last in line gets extra pressure.

12 piece bucket,
It set me back about $33.00 for a double C.D., but it is pretty cool to listen to in the car.
I'll share more stuff after I listen through it here a second time.
Here's the website if anyones interested. www.zonecoach.com

I am not aware of Jim Fanning, but did review his site however...
There is plenty of research to support both meditation and self talk in performance enhancement - especially meditation in trying to create the right variables to enter 'the zone'. I think of the zone as no conscious movement or reaction - it 'just happens'.
