Has anyone seen the latest issue of Golf Magazine? It has a sequence of Kenny Perry taken from in back/down the line. Early in the BS, the butt points closer to his stance line than the Plane Line. In the Follow Through, the club is almost horizontal, with the butt pointing several feet outside the Plane Line. Perry is one of the best ball strikers on tour.
Maybe there should only be two Imperatives? Or it should be localized to the Impact Interval?
Haven't seen it yet. How are his impact alignments? I think imperative #3 (2-0, -B Straight Plane Line) applies to clubshaft delivery alignments.
2-F and 7-3 helps us determine the precise way to accomplish this, but not many players actually stay "on-plane" throughout the entire motion. It sure makes it easier when you do, but good ball strikers are typically on plane through the impact interval and it usually begins when the right forearm starts pointing at the base of the plane line during the downstroke.
I don't think Homer was overly concerned how you got to those impact alignments, as long as it happened prior to impact. Clearly, there are a lot of variations and compenstations available for Kenny to utilize in executing the imperatives, and he owns his!
I'm at somewhat of a disadvantage because I don't have the magazine pics but curious how his plane looks from half way down into impact.
