Through plenty of reading the forums and seeing the term "magic of the right forearm" a question occurred to me-should I swing the club left or right? Some details:
Right eye dominant,
Throw, write, mouse, tennis, etc. right handed,
Golf left handed,
Bat left handed,
Hockey left handed,
Does this or should this matter wrt the magic of the right forearm technique? As this would be my left (less powerful) forearm even though I am a right handed person?
if you can play tennis right handed why don't you play golf right handed.it is the smae basic motion.is this what you are asking?if you are a true lefty in golf then it is the magic of the left arm for you.
I write, play snooker, fire a gun and handball (An Australian rules football term) left handed, but play golf right handed, throw right handed and play tennis right handed.
Got a mate who plays tennis as a lefty and golf as a righty. How long have you been playing?
I just always considered my swing to be controlled mostly by my right arm pulling motion. Some of my early lessons included swinging with only my right arm. That guy actually made some sense looking back now. He actually got my left arm into a flying wedge alignment but I just let that arm go along for the ride rather than apply any force with it-my weaker arm!
Also made sense to me for my dominant eye to be looking down the target line. To swing from the other side feels very awkward to me. I've been hacking for about 16yrs now, play decently to ~12 hdcp.
I doubt I would seriously try to swing right handed at this point but I wanted to know if TGM suggested the strongest (dominant) arm should conjur the magic?
