Swinging Forces
From my understading there are three things we can so in regards to the forces generated in the golf stroke. 1# Avoid 2# Harness or 3# overpower. In order to harness these forces do we assign physics precedence over geometry? If so is it not vital to train the pivot without using arms or hands so that the primary lever assembly lines up through impact. Maintaining and sustaining the line of compression.

Like some opinions.

Many Thanks

cause v.s. effect
"Geometry" is the effect of "physics", which is the effect of the "intent" of rotation against the "lag".

In terms of the arms and hands, they are parts of the whole rigid (or force-applying, stressed, tensed, lagged) rotating struture, supporting and sustaining the "lag", which dictates everything.

YOU load and sustain the "LAG", during which the "LAW" releases it, ideally beyond impact.
"Sustain (Yang/陽) the lag (Yin/陰)" is "the unification of Ying and Yang" (陰陽合一).
The "LAW" creates the "effect", which is the "motion" or "feel", with the "cause", which is the "intent" or "command".
"Lag" is the secret of golf, passion is the secret of life.
Think as a golfer, execute like a robot.
Rotate, twist, spin, turn.
Bend the shaft.

Thanks Compda
Compda,

Thanks for referring us back to that older post of yours. Nicely laid out with good TGM support. This further supports what I've been in dire need of working on & what I've just started to focus my mental energies on. I've read this section in the yellow book several times, but again, the value of this website and its dedicated posters is priceless!!!!

Thanks

Thanks for your encouragement Trane.

I have always endeavoured to share what was shared to me by my mentors. Like them, my committment was always to provide reason behind my statements than merely "spouting".

This I feel has always helped not only my students, but myself personally because logical reason strengthens the belief system and gives you courage to hold onto it even when things don't seem to work.
