I have a question regarding the right arm in the swing and the use of the hands. I have read on this site and in the book about right arm take away. I also understand that the hitters motion is a right arm thrust from the top of the backswing. But, I also read that the hands are the thing in the swing. Educated hands control the swing/pivot. Well, if my educated hands take the club back to control my backswing pivot, then my right forearm is not doing it. Also, if my hands control the body pivot coming thru, then my right forearm will be at the mercy of my hands, or vice versa if I use my forearm. I guess I'm looking for a little guidance.
...at the hitters motion is a right arm thrust from the top of the backswing.
In Pivot Strokes, both Hitters and Swingers Load their respective Lags with the Body Turn during the Start Down. This Action delivers the Assembled Power Package with its Bent Right Elbow to the Release Point. From there, the Hitter exerts his Right Triceps Thrust...
Thank you for the correction/clarification. But, still wondering, do the educated hands control or the right forearm? Or is it sort of a combination of the two?

You can MONITOR anything you want. You may choose to MONITOR the RIGHT FOREARM during the Takeaway, and even for entire STROKE for that matter. You could choose to MONITOR your SHOULDER TURN, OR HIP ACTION.
Some items are probably best to MONITOR mainly during the LEARNING stage, or when they need attention. Many TGMers, however, find that once the Pivot and Arms are pretty well trained, that they do best by simply MONITORING the HANDS. Through the LEFT HAND you monitor THE CLUBFACE(FLAT LEFT WRIST), and through the #3 PRESSURE POINT(the first joint of the right index finger)YOU SENSE THE SWEET SPOT and THE CLUBHEAD LAG. The other Components are in there, and are doing their jobs, but the player feels as if the HANDS are CONTROLLING the entire machine.
Once the hands are Educated, they can Educated the rest of the stroke.
I find Hand tracing the Plane Line works best for me with a Right Forearm takeaway.
Of course, there are the Dowels. You can get a wonderful right forearm tracing feel with them as well as a hand trace of the plane. Once the hands are educated the body follows.
Mike O called me from some Turkish Prison camp the other day and had a very good thought about actually Monitoring THE Hands . . . I think since being in solitary confinement he has really got intune with his hands . . .
Anyway . . .
Mikey advised me to just take the left . . . no club and make a fist. Cock and uncock your wrist. THAT IS VERY LITTLE MOTION. The Right Wrist essentially does NOTHING. The motion that you are actually sensing that seems BIG is the motion of your Arms. And actually if you just cock your Right Elbow Up-Plane . . . that's not that big of a motion either.
So in Monitoring you have to really focus on WHAT YOU ARE MONITORING . . . are you ACTUALLY Monitoring your Hands or are you Monitoring your Arms . . . or are you Monitoring the Clubhead?
Really drill down on what you are sensing and the amount of motion it REALLY is.

But not until.
Confused now.
1) Is a 3 barrel Hit a "Pivot Stroke"
2) Is the release point the same as trigger point?
3) How to reconcile 6-K-0
