injury has changed swing, HELP!
i have injured my pp3 index finger, so i had to change a few things and saw it on vid today...ugghh...disgusted with meself....this is the emergency room, i need help, NOW! lol

the swing post impact is like a head on crash with another golfer, bam! standing straight up folding left arm cutting way inside on followthrough... i always had a tendency but now its UNREAL. finger is better but i need to get back on track...i have developped an overdose of clubface opened at top (toe at ground pointing) and the likes. i think i even see a reverse-pivot creeping in, oh my! kinda of a turn and burn overdosed swing.

i can only accelerate through left side seeing right hand is in pain so its the only way to play painless golf. lets call my present swing major vertical cut hinge action...now i'm almost healed and i want it back...any thoughts would be welcomed.
thanxs!

Other Compensations
Powerdraw,

What's the nature of the injury and how much "normal" usage do you still have?

I feel your pain. I severely sprained my left wrist "skimboarding", and broke my right toe playing football on the beach a few weeks ago. I know...what's a guy in his mid-40's think he's trying to prove? It's called a mid-life crisis in case you young guys want to know what coming up for ya!
Anyway, it's amazing how important some of these seemingly insignificant body parts can effect the entire golf swing.

sounds like the perfect time to practice left hand only (use a stronger grip) chip shots

at the least, ensure your left thumb is behind the shaft (the thumb is the key)

nothing long, just 20 yards max

You'll build up some strength in the left side, and learn to 'allow' the swing to flow

you may also use this drill to learn to feel PP#2 'drag' the club through

when your right hand feels better, switch to right hand only shots for a while

i had a gw shot high over tree too green, i gave it extra umpgh down to get it higher, unfortunately, a rock at low point made swing stop at 100%....ouch....shaft slipped too right knuckle, took entire blow...eversince, i cannot thrust a can opener. so never mind a shaft.

so its was on ice for 6weeks, but i started to play taped up but with no feel of shaft in right hand, being afraid of injury, the little downward action i had became a left jerk of the left arm around me. Now that im at about 80%, i can play without the bandage but the left side feel must stay for awhile, but boy is it ugly.
