Impact drill
I wanted to post a picture explaining a drill that I found. It's probably a very old drill found in many books.

I THINK it has helped me to take more of a straight line path to the ball on the downswing. More of that feeling of understanding where the trailing elbow is coming into impact (after doing this drill, my trailing elbow feels closer to the body coming into impact). I can sense the down, out, and forward motion of the club into the ball. At the moment, I strongly think that this was one of the final pieces of the puzzle in helping me reduce fat shots.

unfortunately, I haven't been having success with the driver after using this drill, so far.

If you have any comments on this drill, positive or negative, or any extra tips related to this, please post them. At the moment, it's easily my favorite drill.

Directions Go to impact. Without moving legs, swing the club back so the shaft reaches a hip-high and parallel-to-the-ground position. Check to make sure the shaft is also parallel to the target line. After 3 times of moving it from impact to the backswing, hit the ball on the third downswing. Finish at about waist level."

Stage 2?
Acquired motion drill.

The shoulders and hips appear to be moving in the photos which would take it to the 2nd stage.

Just guessing though. How about the follow through. What are the recommendations and how do you do it?

This is the only picture after the above two pics.

Martin Hall didn't say much about followthrough.
"On the last time, hit the ball on the downswing. Finish at about waist level. Keep doing the drill until you can hit a straight shot."
