Would it be accurate to assume that when hitting, the aim is to drive the handle of the club as far past the ball as possible. This is done by driving with the right arm whilst keeping the right wrist bent. This should produce a flat left wrist at impact. It should also keep the stress on the club shaft until passed impact ,hopefully to low point.
I hope this is accurate as this is what i am striving for!!!!!
Although the aiming point is more a Swinger’s concept because of the clubhead whirl needed with a linear inline motion of the club and prevent throw-away, driving the hands past the ball in a Hitters stroke is still what to strive for.
But, unlike the need to “switch ends” with a Swing Stroke, not only does the hands and grip end drive past the ball, so those the entire shaft. This is a Hitter’s crossline attack to the ball. Homer said to hit with the entire club-shaft and clubhead.
And don’t forget that even while driving past the ball- don’t forget the all important DOWN. You will feel pp#1 and pp#3 inline, so dump them hard into the ball.
