Volvik Crystal Golf balls
Has anyone tried these yet? I hit numerous shots with my 7 iron the other day up and down the fairway of one of our practice holes. 1 volvik and 4 pro v1's. In every instance the volvik was 5 - 10 yards longer. I'm going to play with them for awhile as a real test.

they're a distance ball with very little greenside/short iron spin. So yes they're go farther but you'll have to play for more "run out" on chips/pitches etc.

Volvik 1st Round
Shot a 74 today with the Volvik. I've never been a big spinner of the ball, so that didn't seem to matter. They seem to roll a little farther off the putter, which was good, no 3 putts and 30 putts overall. I'll keep using them for now.

I think they are Korean, and cheap $17.00 per doz.

Thanks Rick. I did a quick Google search and you are correct---Korean ball, 70 compression, and found a site that sells them for $20. At that price and with your experience I see no reason not to try them. Have fun. Dave

Well, my first dozen Volvik Crystal balls arrived---and then I found out one of my local golf shops sells them!! Oh well, look before you leap.
Anyway, played a few holes with one today before it took a dive into the woods. It's a low compression ball (70). Feels nice off of the club and carry is every bit as good as a Pro V----but it runs and runs. Not much spin going into the green, so allow for that. Chips pretty well and I was surprised as I expected a lot more run. Putts very well. I have 11 left so will see what happens this week during a full round (only walked 8 today as we finally got some rain). Pretty good ball for $20. And they are sure to be a conversation piece. Thanks RickPinewild for mentioning these--always fun to try new stuff. Dr Dave
