Now for something completely different............(long)
I also caught that Flick clip on The Golf Channel (reference Flick thread) during a commercial in the ballgame. It looked like he had lowpoint as impact, but at least there was an implication of ball then ground, down and through. And that was definitely Hinging. A fine and generous man, but still a victim of vagueries.
Upon seeing Mr. Flick for the umpteenth time (and reading the posts before), at least one thing came to mind. The producers and programming people for that Monday Night thingy have to be sweating the fact that they are offering fundamentally the sos each week. Meanwhile their edgier stuff like the Big Breaks (seen the first time through, not the 50th) gets solid ratings. I thought Lynn Blake Golf, and TGM in general, would present them with an opportunity. There are some decent talking points.....
- Homer Kelly and TGM are a wonderful story. A man's life work, passed onto his students.
- It is something different.
- It's a lttle edgey for the general golf population (that's a good thing). For the most part it is unknown. It is also controversial as a result of misunderstanding, disinformation, and predjudice.
- It is something different.
- In a responsible presentation of all that is golf, it deserves its day (or Monday night) in the sun.
- It is something different.
- It is garnering fresh momentum through new opportunities and the quality of the Masters who steward it. Right now it's the Little Engine That Could. As the fog is cleared, it will be the iron fist in the velvet glove of the soon-to-be not so average golfer. "No wax".
- Oh and I don't know if I mentioned.... it is SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
Anyway.... I sent off an email through TGC website to the Monday Night thingy requesting Bob Greenway's address or whoever produces Monday Night. It had a few roughed out thoughts. And be safe in the knowledge that I do not in any way set myself as speaking of/for this board. That's a good thing, because given enough time, I will say something that annoys them (it's a natural gift ). I don't even know if Lynn would want to do something like this.
I was just thinking if there were any likeminded folks, it wouldn't hurt to pop off a quick note to TGC. You never know when/if somebody there might take a hint and make it their own idea.
My daydream: Lynn Blake takes one of those Break 100 projects and, after 6 weeks of lessons, the guy shoots an 83.
We need to think of a way to make this happen - get lynn on academy live. I could see the expression of complete concentration on their faces as lynn does his thing . Telling the truth about G.O.L.F ....
Whatever is needed - ill be right here to give a lending hand....

The Golf Channel and Orlando would be a short trip, and I would indeed love to do it. Properly presented, the principles and procedures of The Golfing Machine would light up their switchboards like a Christmas tree.
Will that time come? Probably.
When? Who knows.
Until then, the axe continues its assault against the tree. One day it will fall. Not from the first blow...
This is a wonderful idea and I have emailed TGC every 4-6 months over the past year and a half. You will get a standard response thanking you for your interest, keep watching, blah blah blah. Perhaps if we had some type of petition we could all sign maybe they would see the number of viewers involved and actually do a TGM based show. I'm not a computer expert, but I would think we could set up an electronic petition area, post info about it on all the TGM related sites, and see what happens. Perhaps a thousand names arriving at once might convince them! Dr Dave
Get some good names on there too. Some "big guys"....to get their attention and make it seem more serious than a bunch of random ppl from cyberspace, if you know what I mean.
Like A.I.'s, pros, AND people who have improved so much from lessons too...they may brush that off as BS but if you have enough success stories (which I'm sure you do) they can't hold out forever...I guess the only problem would be rallying ppl to write testimonials (brief testimonials?).
C'mon, someone must have some connections! Stop holding out!

BTW Lynn...ur the man lol. Ur like a prophet or something.
I'm going to put it to the golf channel when they have the 'Drive,Chip and Putt' @ Eagle Creek later this month. I would love some ammunition...other than the obvious!....how about Lynn giving me a lesson !
