I have changed to TGM with Rob Noel now for 3 months and have seen some huge improvements. The one thing that I am struggling with is my take away. I can achieve the right arm take away on plane tracing the line good but cant seem to fan the club properly. It stays closed down and when I try to fan the face i get into twisting my hands and I know this is not good. Help!!!
Ensure that your left thumb is solidly behind the shaft (see a pic of Yoda's grip). This will allow the left wrist to cock properly on plane without the left thumb interfering. Then simply pick the club up with your right forearm.

You actually cannot over turn that left hand at startup (start-up swivel) provided you stay onplane and maintain the structure of the left flying wedge.

First, congratulations on studying TGM. I've heard only great things about Rob and I hope to meet him someday.
About your problem. Are you starting from Standard Address?
Then, it's a relatively simple procedure to fan the right forearm and open that clubface.
First. Your first action from address is re-establish the Flying Wedge Alignments. Apply little extensor action and watch how the clubshaft and left arm get pulled into a straight line. Use the #3 Pressure Point and Right Thumb and try not to move your hands from their centered position. (See Yodas Avatar, he has established his Flying Wedge alignments)
Second. Turn your hands slightly. (to the right) Once again, try not to move your hands too much. An important point to also keep in mind is that the hands and club should be moved away from their centered location by the right forearm moving to the right just like you would move your arms to clap your hands. At this point, your hands should have moved only a few inches to the right and your right hand has also moved back toward your right hip. Your left wrist has only flattened and turned, your right wrist has bent and turned and moved in a small arch to the right.
And there you have it. The Start-up Swivel.
You should now have a fanned right forearm and clubface. For the rest of the backswing, keep the hands centered in your torso. A tendency now would be to let the club get too far behind you, below plane.
Now, tell Rob this at your next lesson so he can get you corrected (after the damage I've done)
I've been working on this a lot recently. One feel that may help is when you start back,as the left wrist flattens you will feel the pressure on pp#3.Your wedges are now set .Maintain the same right wrist bend all the way to the top -your left wrist can only cock.I would NOT recommend doing this anywhere near a ball at first. The dowel drill will help enormously also.
