18 month report
It's been about 18 months since my visit with Yoda (March 05) and 12 months since a tune-up with Ted Fort (Sep 05). I also ran into Chuck Evans in, of all places, Opelika,AL and he gave me a quick 10 minute range session this April. When I first saw Lynn my index was 9.8 with an average score of about 85---and I had been stuck there for about 3 years. Since then I have continued to follow this forum regularly and absorb everything I can, from the excellent posts to the great videos. I picked up my most recent USGA handicap card yesterday and my index is down to 6.1 and my average score is 81.9. I have always enjoyed playing golf, but playing well is really a treat. It's so nice winning $$ from my buddies on Sat mornings for a change. I have NEVER hit the ball so far and so accurately. I still have a few stupid moments and an occasional clunker round, but not many. What's amazing is how much 12-5-0 seems to have helped my short game. Homer Kelley was brilliant and the people who teach his findings are special. There is a reason Lynn has added another tour player to his fold and why Ted is the Georgia PGA Teacher of the Year. The secret is in the book, and the words are brought to life by these gentlemen. I am living proof. Go to The Swamp and experience the magic.

Thanks, Dave. Your desire to learn and willingness to put in the time would make any instructor look good.
Tommy Armour once wrote, "There are at least six people who want to be taught golf to every one who wants to learn."
Nothing much has changed in the decades since Tommy graced the Lesson Tee. But Ted and I know that our students turn that statistic upside down.
In my best Yoda crackle:
"Lucky we are!"

9.8, 6.1, 3.0, etc., etc.
You have the knowledge, so the door is open. Take it as low as you'd like. You have the talent and the desire.
