SNOW STORM - YIKES
Here in Central Long Island, NY we are getting nailed with one hell of a storm. I am using my "Left hand low" chip shot for a right-ie to move the white stuff. When I switch hands I do an abreviated R-Forearm Pick up.........Okay, back to shoveling.....................

Snow Here Too
It's O.K. swingeasttowest what you didn't get landed here in Massachusetts.
I went out with the snowblower and during the process by mistake I uncovered a little patch of the front yard grass. Grass WOW! Out came the driver, the tee wouldn't go into the frozen ground so a little mound of snow served the purpose. I traced the turned shoulder plane with #3 to the top, down the plane the club came, left wrist flat, right rist bent, and before the right arm was fully extended my orange colored ball was on a fantastic trip. It went straight for the three feet I could see in the blowing snow. I'm sure it went 300 yards

Bad News: It was my only orange ball and it is lost in the snow. I'll find it in the spring.

The temp was 7, winds howling at 30 gusting higher. For some reason or another I was the only one out and I had a golf club. It was fun.

Snow Storm Blues
Just caught the Weather News on Channel 2. Wow...you guys are really getting hammered!

drewitgolf and jim.cook -- Governor declares State of Emergency in MA!

6b -- Philly is shoveling out from the worst storm in years but will be ready for The Big Game!

swingeasttowest -- Mayor Bloomberg holds press conference saying all is under control -- meanwhile watch out! for that taxicab sliding across Times Square!

Here in Atlanta, it's just cold...24 degrees at noon as I write -- but...how'd you put it in your PM yesterday, Drew? -- it's a "bright, bright, sunshiney day!"

Meanwhile, here at LBG, we've got the fire going in the Clubhouse Lounge, hot apple cider in the pot and maybe even a little something else behind the counter to really 'warm your innards.'

Love ya, guys.

Hang in there!

I'll chime in from Athens, GA. Same weather as Atlanta. I'm home sick with a respiratory infection (wouldn't do to be hacking and coughing all over my patients at the hospital). As I type, my wife is making home made chicken soup (can you believe that???).

Under the circumstances it's great to be able to pour over all of these terrific posts here (and at Chuck's and Brian's) sites, while monitoring the clubs I have for sale on eBay and waiting for waiting for the Buick Invitational to come on.

Hope all is well with everyone in the frozen North.

At home
This is the first NFC Championship game I haven't covered and not complained about it. It’s not the snow or the cold- it is the wind. The wind is an obnoxious agitator that relentlessly tries to invade your space on the planet. It is the worst form of torture. I’ll be in my living room watching the game with a few cold ales and some crisp Italian hot dogs with spicy mustard. Almost perfect - its not golf.

OK....so I won't complain about our two hour frost delay this morning here in Austin.

But I do know what you are going through, having grown up in Rochester, NY![/i]

Hmmmm.. Moving from AZ to NC and I thought the 35* today was not good, but I drove by the golf course on the way to the store and the golfers were hitting them.

Will agree last night the wind and 20 some degrees was not what I would classify as weather to my liking.

Ah, spring is just around the corner, here come the 40's....

Have You Heard The One About....?
All right, you Snow Birds! Especially all you Northern Lurkers who have been waiting for the right moment to deliver your Best Shot. We need some Best Storm of '05 stories from you!

So far, Jim Cook is Leader in The Clubhouse (Lounge) with the tale of his orange ball disappearing after only 'Three feet into the Whiteout Void.' In a close second is swingeasttowest who is now mid-way through the coming best-seller from Golf Digest: What You Can Learn About Your Left Hand Low Putting Stroke While Shoveling Snow. And Martee, who is technically disqualified because he doesn't have any snow -- just cold and wind chill -- is a distant third because he only observed the Golf Nuts going at it in 35 degree temps on his way to the grocery store. Lame, Martee: Those guys needed a 4th! I would add that 6b gets an 'in arrears' Honorable Mention for yesterday's snow shovel story even though he is now on his couch enjoying ex-officio Ale Status pending tonight's Big Game.

Best story will be determined by a poll and will win some future as-yet-to-be-determined favor from this site.
