Swing Setter
I saw an infomercial on Mr. Leadbetter's new aid...The Swing Setter.

It LOOKS as if all of the people on there were cocking both wrists, and DOUBLE COCKING the left wrist... at the left arm parallel to the ground position. Most LOOKED to be DOUBLE COCKED at the TOP or END also.

Do you think it is possible to get into the position Mr. Leadbetter wants at 9:00 or Left Arm Parallel to the Ground on the backswing, without cocking BOTH wrists?

The aid is also supposed to help with the "Release".

I saw the same informercial on TGC and agree with your observations...the other thing that struck me was that he kept showing the position that he said was halfway back and I kept thinking theres no way that is halfway back (at best it is 3/4 way back, and for some this would be the top of the backswing). Maybe it's just an illusion with the club cause he was definitely advocating a double wrist cock.

Just another example of instruction that shows only 1 way to do things (and with the double wrist cock I am not sure a very good way at that)...thats the beauty of TGM is that there is not just "a way", but a multitude of ways to build "your swing" by putting correct and compatable components together that work best for you. I think that is why (IMO) TGM AI's have better sucess than the average PGA pro's with the mainstream hackers -- they don't have to tear down somebody's complete swing to build it back to the "1 way" they do things -- AI's can work with the strengths of any given golfer and just change the incompatable components (or have the student work on the imperative they are failing at). That is why someone can see more drastic improvements with TGM as opposed to something else. The trick is to get an AI like Yoda, Brian, etc. that is experienced with figuring out what to keep and what to throw out.

As I said before in other posts, I am a self-admitted training device junkee, but have given up the hope that 1 will find a magic pill like the infomercials tout. To think if I had just saved my money instead of buying all those training devices I could have afforded another day with Yoda. Hey, but maybe I can start selling them on eBay and raise some Yoda dollars...theres a thought!

PS-PM me if you want an older Medicus, Swing Extender, Kallasay's trainer, etc...!!!
