You are below the plane from release point to separation.

The club should enter the ball at 4 o'clock but EXIT at 8:00!

Find a LONG STRAIGHT line.

A football field is perfect.

Put the ball on the line.

Hit little 1/2 shots with a six-iron.

Try to make the ball go straight down the line.

Notice HOW FAR LEFT the clubhead goes when the ball goes straight.

Do iT!

I will find a school field and try this.Thinking about what you said,I think I may have a clue about what is going wrong. On those push shots,I may have been directing both hands towards the inside as opposed to just the #3 pressure point.Have to repeat to myself, front hand=clubface, back hand=clubhead.

The right forearm shows you the angle of approach.... this is how inside you will need to be at impact point.....

Brian - a couple of questions about your replies

Please explain enter the ball at 4 o'clock but exit at 8:00
Are 6:00 and 12:00 at the back and front of the ball as it sits on the intended line of flight?

Steve

Clock
I believe the ball is the face of a clock as you are addressing it. 6:00 is closest to you, 3:00 is where you would think normal impact would occur.
