I've been starting up from Impact Fix and believe I may be putting my hands too far forward. I think I'm exagerating the position too much. This is causing very low boring shots and my misses are semi-smothered hooks.
Most good impact positions I've seen show the hands just slightly ahead of the ball.
Anyway, I made the correction and started hitting the ball with a much better trajectory. It's amazing how we tend to "overdo" things in the golf swing!
I've been working on the same thing. Have been practicing setting up at impact fix, and then check it in the mirror. Seem to be getting the hang of it. Now, if only the weather will hold up this weekend so I can get outside???? Nope, rain and perhaps, wet snow---can't wait. Dr Dave
do you then make a conscious effort to set the right wrist early or late in the takeawy...
I probably helps set additional lag to be setting the wrist during backswing, as they will tend to be a little more relaxed

I have been experiencing a similar problem and have been reviewing address/startup in general. One of the areas that has always been confusing to me is the use of "impact fix" in describing a startup position. There seems to be a consensus that this is consistent with Mr. Kelley's intent but the book can leave a different impression. My main reference point is 10-8 and 10-9 where there is a distinction between THE FIX as Address Engineering and IMPACT as Address Positioning. There is a difference in the body with a "comparatively" squared away description for 10-8-A as in Address Engineering and a "Impact" description for 10-9-B as in Address Positioning. These differences are apparent when 8-2 is compared to 8-10 and 9-2-2 #1 is compared to 9-2-10 #1. Another indication is the inclusion of a Forward Press in the 12-3-0 checklist (Section 3-Adjusted Address, #13) again suggesting something different from Fix. And, while referring to item 13 of the 12-3-0 checklist, every time I read it, the question is how should "Forward Press-Clear Right Hip" be read. Does the "-" mean and, or, then, to ??

It was the first thing Yoda stripped out of my setup. Although I thought it was a spot on position, he saw it as exaggeration. We found my grip with a Momentus Indoor Driver from his cartrunk. He had me in the parking lot tracing parking lines and hitting an Impact Bag. It had a formed grip on it that put my hands in the traditional grip. The Impact Fix has just an inflection of the beam and strut formation than an extreme. He told me it's easy to overdo, to make me feel better.
