Punch / Fanning
The discription of Right Forearm Fanning is given under 10-3-A PUNCH. This(Fanning)is a BACKSTROKE procedure, as I understand Fanning. "Except for 10-3-C (PUSH), the Right Forearm must have a "Fanning" type of motion, not a "Linear" Push Stroke type of motion(10-3-C)."

If this is true, it makes sense, in that the Punch Position on the BACKSTROKE would allow for a good "STRUT" relationship between the LEFT and RIGHT ARMS on the BACKSTROKE. It appears that the ELBOW is not in a PITCH POSITION on the BACKSTROKE, even for Swinging. The 10-3-B PITCH POSITION appears only to be a DOWNSTROKE POSITION, that occurs near Release(9-3-9).

So... for Swinging, the Right Forearm FANS on the BACKSTROKE, and is in a PUNCH position, so that the "Strut" can be established. On the DOWNSTROKE, the Swinger can either stay in the Punch Position, or move into a Pitch Position, which is good for "trigger delay."

What do you think?
