Good 'ol Guinea Pig...
Boys,

Haven't seen the short grass for a long, long, time, but...I'm giving it a whirl tomorrow in a competitive situation. Heck, I played last May and before that once in October of 2006, so why worry?? ? I remember laying out a similar scenario to Annikan Skywalker a few years ago, to which he replied, "if you know the alignments, you'll be fine". That day, bolstered by his words and accompanied by "the Bucket", I managed a fairly easy 68 on a really tough course. Well, tomorrow I'll take the alignments and my relatively untested "stack and tilt" pattern and see what happens. I'm fairly cynical that my lack of preparation can succeed, but I did get a visit from Bucket this week (purely business on his behalf...he was pimping employee insurance benefits, but as an aside, it quickly transitioned into a G.O.L.F discussion) so maybe the visit was an omen of good things to come.

Keep you posted,

EC

A visit from Bucket is a positive omen . . . I think I'd rely on the alignments for your confidence boost!

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)

I remember that 68. It was fun to watch. . . T'was a good day . . . when are we going to do that again? You play about as much as Mike Oberdookie brushes his teeth.

By Sunday you could probably shoot a smooth 67. You should really try playing 2 times in a week EC.

Thanks for the advice mrodock! I've actually practiced on a golf course once a week since your post and just finished two Pro-Ams; Friday (70) and today (69); ten birdies, too many unforced errors, but it's coming!!! I've put my focus nearly 100% into the critical alignments (mind definitely in the hands) and it's really paying off. The "motionless right wrist" is killer. Thank you Mr. Kelley and thank you Lynn!

I could have told you before the 75 that it was a bad omen.

I've got a court order stating that he can't get 100 yards from me if I'm wearing golf attire. It also states that he can't make a golf motion within eye site of me- if you've seen it - then you know what kind of damage that could do to someone's game!

Is it any coincidence that the scores have dropped lower and lower the further you are from your last visit? Think about it!
