In case your cable company isn't giving you good answers, you can do a little self-investigation here: speed tests, pick the one closest to your internet connection http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?more=1 If you sign up (free) at this site, you can get a line quality test here: http://www.dslreports.com/linequality |
Bambam,
I'm also having problems with the videos. When I try to Save Target As, I get a File Download dialog box that says "Getting File Information," which is where I get stuck. Connection speed shouldn't be an issue (downloading at the office), but maybe there's a firewall issue on my end? Any ideas? |
It could be a firewall issue. Are you able to download videos from other sites while at your office?
|
Yes, and it seems I was able to get videos from this site, just not when they're posted in the Gallery. I downloaded the Tomasello Australia series a while ago before it was posted in the Gallery (may have been a link in a post), but if I try to open it now in the Gallery, I can't. Can you possibly post a link to one of the Tomasello Letter series so I can test?
|
I am also having trouble viewing the videos. I tried streaming them and when that wasn't working, right-clicking and downloading them. Once downloaded, I could only watch about a minute of the video before I got an error message. Any ideas? Thanks.

armourall, I must have missed your post...sorry about that. Here's a direct link to one of the Tomasellos videos.
http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/gallery...Chapter2BB.wmv Lefty, what's the error message you're getting when you download and play the videos? |

BamBam - I am getting the message "C00D1199: Cannot play the file". I googled it and it has something to do with the codec. The weird thing is that I can watch the first minute of each video before getting the error. Any ideas?
|
So I found a solution. After researching the issue, I found instructions to play it on your Media player 6.2 which is installed in all windows systems. To access it, go to your start button and then to Run. At run type in mplayer2.exe That should be able to handle all of the videos on the forum.
If you need more information about the error message "C00D1199: Cannot play the file" goto http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/articles/14322.aspx :) |
great find, Lefty! Thanks!
