Yes there is definately mulletude happening, no gorilla spandex or wife-beater garb, and no stubbletude.

I carry an HP IPAQ with a Gig of memory for about 300 MP3's and a few videos so I mix the playlists up. Not as good as an Apple IPOD for storage, but I can access this site from anywhere and make phone calls on it. I'm never far.

Zoinks! Guess it's time for me to give up on the cassettes huh? I'm lightyears behind. . .

You guys are a hoot! I don't have the tech capability to highlight, italicize and barley enough brain power to keep up.

Thanks Yoda for your compliments and encouragement! We are all just making our lives work to the best of our ability. I am grateful to have something to contribute. Now to get the big drive.

For your benefit Matthew, I married and divorced a man primarily because of his culinary skills, hindsight being 20-20,. I learned to cook and hate mircowaves but love paper plates. I do use real cutlery, that's what dishwashers are for but find the plates too much of a space hog. Cut down on your soda's by introducing sport drinks and juice into your mix. Really! Sprite mixed with a little grapefruit makes a Fresca. I actually helped a raging alcoholic get off, or on as the case may be, the wagon by beginning to find a new association with her beverages. Water mixed with cranberry juice or a juice of your choice is another way of moving to better, healthier choices.

To 12 piece bucket: For what it's worth I hardly know what an IPod is much less an HP IPAQ,, I still don't have a CD player in my Jeep. I have to work hard to find tapes to play. My son, just turned 18 * yeeks, has suggested I get an adapter that will allow me more choices but . ..The IPod came thru an old friend and even though I have all the 'tools' I haven't figured out how to program new music as has been gloriously suggested by this thread. We're all learning . . . it never ends.

I also wanted to tell EdStraker that I saw the Moody Blues at Chastain pPrk a few years ago in their first performance with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (if I remember correctly their first live orchestra) and it was wonderful!!!! I didn't know anyone still appreciated this type of rock. I am so encouraged!

My main form of exercise is swimming----the only music I hear is typically the last song on the radio prior to hitting the pool. And it plays over and over and over in my brain. Lap after lap.... IT DRIVES ME NUTS! I need to invent an underwater sound system. You people are so lucky to workout to music. You have no concept of how maddening it is to hear a bad commercial jingle play inside your head for 60 minutes! And people wonder why I'm 1/2 nuts. Sorry for the rant. I feel better now. Dr Dvae

See, I can't even type my name correctly!!

Dr. Dave, You're a riot. This very syndrome was the inspiration for recorded music. Put your favorite music in your ear (headset, car stereo, etc.) before you hit the waters edge. And while you're at it you should choose audio that doesn't interrupt your natural stroke.

I wish you'd share some of your fitness experience with swimming. It is one of the most beneficial and the least impact oriented form of exercise and people with and without arthritis would be well served to utilize this resource when it's available. Would you share?

And finally, most people don't write their name legibaly (especially on checks)so who's to expect you to remember how to spell your name. You're off the hook. Besides you share and provide too much great information to be accountable for such a small infraction.

Just thought I would update. Managing to cut down to less than 3 a day on cigarettes and still running every second day.

Im starting to be able to run about 4 times the distance I was able at the begining. Started to do some other exercises to try to get a better shape. Been doing some bench with a friend of mine to try to make my chest a lil more solid... I want it to be easier to feel that no.4 pressure...lol

I was wondering what is the best way to get myself more into a better physical condition. I want to do it mainly because I look like a skeleton with skin clingfilmed around it and would like to look a bit better but whilst im at it I might as well get fit for golf at the same time. :)

The thing is, im completely ignorant of the whole fitness thing and don't know where to even look. I often joke that I was raised on smoke and chocolate(its pretty close to reality actually)...lol

So advice would be helpful :)

Thanks

Ps - Is this a good way to do bench

Start off with my max which is about 40kg on a good day, do as many sets until I can't lift one anymore - do the same with 30, then 20 and then finish with 15 mins doing the bar ?

whenever I have this problem (which is often), my wife begins singing Joy to the World - Three Dog Night......

Vickie, just found your response to my swimming comments! Rather than hijack this thread I'll try to arrange my thoughts and put together a separate thread on swimming tonight and its value for golf as well as general health.
