Hitting observation -low ball flight

WellI think I have always played best when predominatly swinging though I have had some real success hitting wedges.
Well todayI went to the ranfe to jus tplay around. After a while I decided to try pure hitting.
Started with a i7 ron and part shots. Hit crisp low lasers. Ramped it up to full swing to the top and drive into the ball. Hi the ball about 5 yards shorter carry than my swinging method, though the ball flew much lower and despite a range rock took one bounce and spun back!!! It was wld but a lower ball fight for sure.
I proceede to do this with my hybrid and 3 wood and driver. Sur enough like the 7 iron crisp accurate staright at my target. But, much lower trajectory and ultimately a slight distance loss due to less carry.

Why is that? What can be done? If I can trajecotry a bit higher, this is as accurate as a ball can be struck.

Yodasluke (Ted Forte) actually told me about a week ago in a lesson that a hitter should hit the ball pretty high.

When I do "hit" it low it's because I've shortened the radius and "hit" it thin.

We've been working on extending to the ball, remember in 2-J-1 it states that, "Soled the ball is toward teh Toe of the Clubface, but "on center" for Impact."
So the radius does get longer!

Extend out and dig down to China.

Just my take.

when I attempt to Hit I get a lower trajectory also. I THINK it is simply due to adding right wrist bend during the stroke, rather than having it frozen right from the get go.

I've gone back to swinging because I'm slack and couldn't fix that fault after a couple of hours trying

I am clearly not thinning these. The contact is pure and cris and the ball rockets off the face. I love the impact, it is so easy to reproduce which is the key to good golf. That saidthe ball is going too low. Tom Tomasello indicates this as an issue for hitters as well and seems to prefer swinging on account of this. Is it possible that my right wrist bend has the club too delofted whereas as with swinging the fine line to clubhead throway is allowing me to contact the ball with true loft?

More foward ball position for 1, and 2 make sure you're not quitting and really driving that right arm!

PUNCH THE GROUND!

----

I find when i "show" people the hitting stroke they all hit it low for a while because they're scared to really use that right arm. Even i was  But once i was confident enough to REALLY hit the ball into the ground without any quitting or stopping, it was pretty amazing.

By definition, the angled hinge of the hitter is more of a deflected blow creating more height and spin.

With the 7 iron there was no question the harder I hit the higher it went, but still lower trajectory than with swinging

Can someone in more laymans terms describe the motions? I know the right forearm pickup, the more shut face due to less forearm rotation going back. Stopping the backswing at the top not the end, then drive the pp#1 and #3 via crossline delivery at the inside aftpart of the ball.

Am I missing anything?

How do you have your left hand on the club? Are you 10-2-B or 10-2-D i.e. is your left hand "neutral" or "strong?"

I'm willing to bet your ball position is too far back and you are not starting from a true impact fix.

OR

If you are starting from fix, you are adding right wrist bend (thus arching your left) and really delofting the club so it goes much lower

Everything being the equal, a true Hitter should have a higher trajectory than a true Swinger, just because of the layback clubface motion of Angled Hinging used by the Hitter, rather than the closing only clubface motion of Horizontal Hinging used by the Swinger.

Can someone please confirm this? Are there any other factors I've missed? (Right wrist bend/clubshaft forward lean doesn't really count as they should be the same for Swingers and Hitters).

Well since the book is lent to a friend I will not quote sections but I strivre for a neutral grip bout 2.5 knuckles at the most on the left

I am going to experiment with ball position perhaps this is posible, maybe the club has not laid back yet.
I dont start at impact fix to be honest. It feels ubcomfortable. I was not aware that this was a necessity but rather an option in hitting

You need to start from fix so that you create the proper alignments and the proper amount of right wrist bend, THEN you just pick the club up and then slam it back down.

Sounds to me like you need to do that

The inging might be part of it, perhaps I am not aiming far enough right when delivering crossline, also possible bout the head moving forward. I will try these out
