Shop Rite LPGA Practice Putting Green

I'm covering the LPGA Shop Rite tournament today and on Sunday.
Today was the Pro-Am and I got some wild pictures of Annika Sorenstam doing push ups on the 17th fairway. These were tough one arm yoga-like push ups. If you are near a Philadelphia Inquirer on Friday, check out the sports page.
I will be there again on Sunday to see her win.

Now: Watched the gals putt and loved Bernadette Luse and the way she set her right arm with her left across her stomach until set. Beautiful set up.

Of course she wasn’t hard to look at either. I-Pod in the ear. And a Braves fan- :(

Good shots indeed!

Check out this link to a guy who is a near scratch golfer (probably a plus if he'd play more) and a great photographer:

And here's one of his favorite subjects:

Thank you for the compliment DG. I have been a photojournalist for a long time and have earned and won my share of journalism accolades and a fellowship in fine art photography. I have been published in all the major news magazines at one time or another. Besides sports, Super Bowls, WS, US Opens, etc, I have covered politics, business, education, the weather (a philly favorite- LOL). I have been to war and have seen more atrocities executed on good people- away from war- that I can’t witness it anymore. Maybe that’s why golf feels so good these days. I have met a ton of decent people, too. I only wish we covered news stories again. Everything is celebrity driven today- oh well.

sorry for being off topic......

Now anyone want to talk about Luse’s right forearm and set up?

Just got back for the Shop Rite Classic. I will never understand why Annika Sorenstam is not herald more by the golfing world. Besides the talent she is the greatest ambassador to her sport since Nancy Lopez. She can flat out play all the shots. Laurie Davis turned the crowd on with booming drives that drop cigars out of the mouths of men along the ropes. “Holy sheeeeet,” was heard more than once. She was straight in the fairway and maybe a good thirty to fifty yards longer then Pat Hurst. Everyone will pop up some turf and tee the ball as she does this week in the greater New Jersey/New York/PA golf courses this week.

Noticed that Gulbis putts with split hands with a cut down belly putter. It ends short of her tummy- an inch above her top hand. This is a picture of her taken a practice stroke as she waiting on the 18th.

This putter is not cut-down.

This is a putter with a method.

I'm sure it is. What kind of putter is this? I notice that the grip is longer than allowed by some. Who makes this?

It's a Hammy Putter:

It does align the forearms with the shaft.

Thanks for the lowdown.
