3 months post -Yoda

Well, it's been 3 months this weekend since my visit to The Swamp. To say things are going well would be a gross understatement. It has been an interesting journey. After seeing Lynn I had a new grip, new set-up, new stroke (hitting), etc. Things went slowly at first, some due to the poor weather in March/April, and some due to the fact I became very mechanical and lost sight of the fact that the object of the game is to score! Over the past 6 weeks a transformation has occurred---all of the "new" things are becoming automatic. My practice time is mechanical, but when I play, I JUST PLAY--the mechanics just seem to happen. I am absolutely smashing the ball. My irons are at least 10 yards longer per club---with much less effort. My driver is just nuts---15-20 yards longer with solid hits. Last week I played in a scramble and I hadn't played with one of the guys since last year. After 3 holes he turned and looked at me and said something that was music to my ears---"What the hell got into you?!" I love it when that happens. At my home course (6531 yds/71.6/131) , over my past 6 rounds my worst score is 83. My last 2 rounds have been 80. And in both of those rounds I had some stupid 3-putts, a double bogey, etc. My confidence is at an all- time high, and the fog is continuing to lift. The sound of the ball coming off the clubface is incredible at times. My thanks, again, to Lynn (and to Ted for demonstrating a true hitting stroke during my time there). And thanks to all of you who contribute to this site--I haven't met any of you, but feel that I know you from your posts and the information you share. Still a lot to learn, but if the remainder of this journey is as exciting as the first 3 months I'm pretty pumped!
Stay healthy folks. Dr Dave
