Well wishes to London

I hope anyone and everyone in this forum and their families and friends are safe and sound. What a tragedy.

I have been expecting it . With G8 and winning the Olympic bid yesterday an attack was on the cards.

I am teaching at a range just outside of London, and golf isnt on many peoples minds today, thanks for your thoughts.

Don't really know what to say. Feel the same as I did on 9/11. As I made rounds in the hospital this morning every single TV was tuned to the horrible news from London. Went to see a patient in the ER and before I could even ask how she was feeling she asked me about the bombings. The battle against these bastards is going to take decades. I just hope we don't lose our resolve. Best regards to all of you folks in England. Trust me, we know how you feel. Dr Dave

My prayers to everyone in London and my condolences to the families that have experienced this barbarous action.

My daughter will be visiting London in a few days with her school's language classes. We are all concern about London, Spain and NYC today.

I think the confirmed death count so far is somewhere in the region of 33+ and many more in critical condition. From the looks of things the emergency services have done a wonderful job and we have to have a great gratitude to them.

People that cause death stand against everything which is just and good. They don't aspire to peace just destruction and corruption.

One thing I do hope for though is that a positive can come out of this tradgedy to give the leaders of the G8 the courage and resolve to do the right things to promote peace and proper justice around the world.

Will the Open be postponed? After 9/11, MLB games, 4-5 dozen NCAA Division 1 football games, international NBA preseason games, 2 days worth of NHL(remember that league?) preseason games, and that week's NFL games were cancelled/postponed.

I know the UK has been the target of terrorist attacks many more time than the US. However, do sporting events go on as usual after IRA bombings?

Best wishes to our UK brethren.

Doesn't look like it will be.

Business as usual

The first round of the Scottish Open went ahead yesterday(Thursday), so there is no reason to believe that the Open will be postponed.

Having spent 8 years using Liverpool St the news was very sad to hear. The IRA had myself involved in bomb threats but you just have to get on with a normal life day to day. The PLO once announced a bomb on a BOAC flight I was on 2 hours from any land in the Indian Ocean in the 70's. I still fly. Mates who were in Bali and hurt still go back there.

My heart goes out to all those connected with this sad talem, as all civilised peoples would.

We will beat these people, but maybe not in our lifetime.
