Swing sequence - Tiger Woods
Tigers 3W to the 17th green on friday @ Baltusrol - PGA 2005. Yellow line is where the ball went.
1. Elbow plane or even hands-only plane 2. On elbow plane or close to it 3. On "under armpit line" here 4. Top. Turned shoulder plane? 5. Start down. Bob/Squat. Back to "under armpit" 6. Bob/Squat complete. Shift almost complete 7. Double-shift completed 8. Just past impact 9. Shaft perfectly parallell to to "under armpit" plane. My amateur conclusion is: - Classical double-shift with a bob or squat - The amount of bob/squat is virtually equal to the difference between the "under armpit" line and the shaft line. Maybe if he went to single-shift he would not need the bob/squat. Probably it is not a bob... Guess a bob is the head going UP and not DOWN. Would have wanted to do more before posting, but bedtime. I am sure you'll take over. Curious about your remarks. I yet really did not figure out the story with the Turned Shoulder Plane v/s Turning Shoulder Planet v/s a line drawn under the armpit. Hope further comments on this sequence clears the fog for some. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
FOR THE 1 MILLIONITH TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
If you don't have your neck level to tht eground at address, you WILL do it on the downswing. Got it? Really? Got it? Please, please don't confuse this will a bob. And please, please, please , pa-leezzee, Don't set up with a high heal like tiger, paula, or adam. Please? |
Thanks for the input. For a moment I thought no one cared about Tigers swing any more. Well as TGM now is taking over as Elkington closes the PGA Championship that may be the case. LOL

As I recall you said (exact quote?) "lean forward like a real golfer" one of your videos. Guess that is what you refer to. Quote:
Well, above I said: Probably it is not a bob... Guess a bob is the head going UP and not DOWN. From the podcasts I know you dislike confusion regarding for example flop shots and lob shots. Seems this hurts just as much and I am sorry for that Brian... :D We need words that actually mean something. Homer knew that. If someone sais "BOB" it has to mean something or we might just as well shaddap & maybe that's what I should have done. Anyway A further description of why this is not a exactly bob as per Homer whould be good. I am SURE I am not the only one wondering... Is it since the source of Tigers aka "BOB" is not a faulty movement on back or knees, but in fact a setup issue? Sounds good enough to me. Quote:
A Yoda quote to finish off: Quote:

Again thanks Brian. I know you are not always into long posts, but: Is it a at least a TRUE double-shift? |
YES!
