Longitudinal Acceleration

I am confused as to what the difference between radial and longitudinal acceleration is:???: . i am also unclear as to what the longitudinal axis is defined as:???:. I am hoping someone could explain it in 'engineering terms' rather than right arm thrust and drawn from a quiver explanation. have i missed the definitions somewhere else in the book? i initial thought radial acceleration was centripetal acceleration and longitudinal acceleration was tangential acceleration but i know believe this to be incorrect. if anybody could clear this up it would be great.[-o< [-o<

Turning a wheel by pushing on a spoke is radial acceleration. Pulling on a string is longitudinal acceleration.

Hello to Scott, my Canadian friend and student. Long time no talk to!

The answer to your question is the same in both cases: The Clubshaft. From the Top, Hitting or Swinging, the Body Turn Pulls the Arms and Club into the Start Down. In the Downstroke and Release, if you Push the Back of the Shaft toward the Plane Line, you are Hitting. If you Pull the Butt of it toward the Plane Line, you are Swinging.
