Basics: Training the Flat Left Wrist

What are the keys to keeping the left wrist flat?

Keys to achieving a FLW:

1) Understand that a FLW is the RESULT of a proper grip and BENT RIGHT WRIST. You don't "try" to get a FLW, it is the RESULT of the BENT RIGHT WRIST.

2) Setup with your FLW/BRW and start by practicing cheaps with no swivel.

3) Move up to pitches with again, no swivel.

4) Then slowly move into 3/4 punch shots, again no swivel.

Don't worry about the direction just yet just learn the feeling of the FLW/BRW relationship

Once you think you've got it....

take a full swing, hit the inside back corner of the ball and roll your ENTIRE ARM through impact! (this part will take a while to learn)

have fun!
