Nice - with suggestions

Im so happy that Lynn has decided to make his own site. All his help has been invaluable on my search for the truth :D .

While the site I know is still in the making, I will put out thoughts that chances have already been thought of ....

Forum.....

I would suggest creating a back-up policy (your hosting company may do this for you) as the forum code is PhpBB which is notoriously full of vunerabilities (just check out the hacker so called security sites). No forum code is particularly safe though and the Php does have several 'built in features' over the slightly more secure snitz code enough to make it a decent alternative.

I like the template but I would suggest modifying it enough so that you can delete the plug for the kind folks at vereor  .

I think the logo does Lynn an injustice. A logo is a marketing tool and it unfortunately doesn't give the professional look. The font is blocky and its basically a black block with no artistic shape or form to it. I think however chances are it was made quickly in attempt to get the site running and probably will be replaced at later date.

Perhaps at a later date after more important features also you may use an add on to allow everyone to have their own avatar...

Website....

The forum is for a certain part leaning on the labour of others but here is where needs most work.

I don't exactly know how you are making the webpage but it could certainly do some work as far as layout and graphic design.

Im not keen on the flashing bar (infact I saw it once under annoying web images....lol) and the fact that the title "Lynn Blake Golf" is in text as apposed to being in the gif or jpeg image itself... if for nothing else it should be done in this way so as the text size of the title can be controlled (press ctrl and move the roller of your mouse back and forth).

-----

I think that will be enough for just now... I have other thoughts and its just my opinion so take anything I say as suggestions but I am really excited to see the webpage up and running :).

Hi Mathew,

Welcome to the forum!

I appreciate your inputs on the forum and website. I have taken responsibility for bringing the forum up and Trigolt has been charged with the website.

Although both of us are Sr. Managers at one of the worlds largest computer companies, we normally don't write code as a job requirement. We have staff for that. :D Since we can't use our company resources, this has been a learning process for both of us. And we are on an aggressive learning curve.

Our goal is to simply give Lynn an Internet presence to make his teaching more focused and accessible. It's a volunteer grassroots effort that we hope will bear considerable fruit for the visitors, for TGM, and for Lynn.

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming! We have a lot of look/feel action items on our to do list, but for the time being "Content is King"

Mathew,

This is a work in progress, thanks for your suggestions. It's good to know the items already on our "things to improve list" are things worth working on!

Backups are already happening....no worries. We do know a little bit about this stuff. :D

Along those lines, if you have specific technical ideas please send me a PM. We have a lot on our roadmap already and would love more ideas.

All good suggestions....
