WristFirm

It appears no one seems to know too much about this aid. Actually you don't even know you have it on - I've been wearing it over a BB jacket as it's been cool and keep it very snug. Because the L wrist is firm, the R wrist stays bent. My wrist is still "intact" and I've taken a few full swings to try it out. I don't think injury is an issue. I hit 200 chips/pitches tonite with it on and then will practice the impact bag drills in the house with it off.

I'll keep using it for the next 6-8 weeks as a guinea pig and let you know my results. And keep in mind I have been a wrist hitter for 45 years; self-taught and thought you were suppose to use your wrists! So I have a lot of "unlearning" that I'm working on. This aid (hopefully) will give me the correct feel of the proper mechanics. I will eventually move up to the Tac-Tic and I suppose I could even alternate them now - 50 balls with WristFirm and 50 balls with Tac-Tic, etc.

Learning To Keep The Left Wrist Flat

Great, Dave. We applaud your efforts! Keep us posted.

Homer Kelley despaired over teaching his students to keep their Left Wrists Flat. He used drills, training aids, everything under the sun, but still -- when they came to hit the Ball -- the Left Wrist would go Bending in the breeze. And this while the students swore it did not!

The only answer is to Look! LOOK! LOOK! and make sure you really are keeping the Left Wrist Flat through Impact, and not just merely assume you are. It's a tough nut to crack -- it gave Homer more trouble than any other Stroke Component -- but it can be done. Indeed, it must be done, unless you are to forfeit what might have been...

Your Best Golf.

I was of the impression that the lead wrist will naturally bend after end of follow through and to stop it from doing so would do you no good. thats not right? doesnt look like this will let it bend at all

thought the tic-tac was great because if you heard the click after follow thru it was alright

Texas Swing Aids

Shucks Y'all, I got an old 10 cent black comb which dudn't do me much good anymore. I just strap one end of that ole comb under my glove and the other unner the face of my timex.
Just make sure you don't get the kinda comb with the pointy end unless you like that kinda throwaway feedback!!!

Mine was a watch with a nice big face on it. Wore it right at the bottom of my wrist. If I could see a mark on the back of my hand from the stempiece, I knew it was TIME to sure up my left wrist. :)

LEAD WRIST BEND

NEVERMIND -

I can't answer that question for you. But I thot that YodasLuke said he kept his R wrist bent thru the follow-thru. It looks to me like the only way my L wrist will bend is if my R wrist straightens.

Someone else will have to answer that question. I'm only finishing about waist high or less so my goal is to keep the R wrist bent.

Will anxiously wait for others to give their input . . .

LEAD WRIST - TOUGH NUT TO CRACK

I don't know whether I'll be able to crack it or not, or it'll crack me, but I'm gonna give it my best shot. I can certainly empathize with the frustration Homer Kelley must have experienced. It just WANTS TO GO ITS OWN WAY.

Any Further Than Follow-Through And You MUST Swivel

Just remember, everybody, that once you've completed the Follow-Through (Both Arms Straight position with the Club about 45 degrees to the ground), you MUST begin your Finish Swivel (12-3-#41). If you don't, the Club cannot complete its proper route. And because your Computer knows you are not going to Finish Swivel, it prepares during the Downstroke for the coming dreaded Chicken Wing. As a consequence, Power and Accuracy evaporate.

So, practice hard that Flat Left Wrist with Basic and Acquired Motion shots going no further than the Follow-Through. But that's it! Any further, and you MUST Finish Swivel.

Did I say that you MUST Swivel?

My Thought

I'm a right handed player. When I think finish swivel I make sure to keep my hands moving "left" after both arms straight all the while trying to keep a bent right wrist (flat left). If I don't think "left", my hands go down the target line, my hips stop and I block the shot to the right. Or, I flip.

If you keep the hands moving down the target line you will chicken wing it. If you move the hands "left" while attempting to keep a bent right wrist and flat left you will swivel. The hips WILL follow and the club re-planes itself.
