Weight Distribution
Have any of you studied how weight distribution (toe to heel) on the feet influences plane, and swing dynamics? BALANCE is one of the ESSENTIALS... this is a factor here, as well as in FOOT LOADING.

Variable that changes from changes in terrain and shot shape...
Front to Back...Toes, Balls of Feet, and Heels Left to Right...Left, Center, or Right Ball above feet.....toward hill....Toes or balls of Feet Ball below Feet.......toward hill.....Heels or Flat Feet Uphill.....toward hill....slighly left Downhill...toward hill....slightly right...YES..I SAID...Slightly RIGHT..the exact opposite of ALL the golfbooks out there Low Trajectory ....Moderately Left Medium Trajectory....Very Slightly Left High Trajectory...Cenetered to Slightly Right High Right to Left ....slightly left with lower CG and toward the balls of the feet to Toes...Upper CG more Back and Right Low Left to Right...slighly left and toward the heels with Upper CG Cenetered to Slighly Left.. Oh yeah make sure you raise/lower the shaft depending on th shot... Or.. Lean the shaft forward/Aft....depending on the terrain Any more questions ...I'll have to kill you...LOL... Lagster always asks the "loaded" questions...even when he knows the answers in advance..... BTW any arguements on the above info can be debated with Mac O'Grady and Michael hebron...cause that's who I learned them from.... Outta Here... |
"Downhill...toward hill....slightly right...YES..I SAID...Slightly RIGHT..the exact opposite of ALL the golfbooks out there"
Won't you thin it? You'd have to put it back in stance to not hit it thin no? I realize if you lean left (i.e. align shoulders with slope or w/e) you'll have to aim right.....but you'll hit it solid anyway. ... "Oh yeah make sure you raise/lower the shaft depending on th shot..." When would you raise/lower the shaft? I know I seem to hit it rightER with low hands. |

Go try ALL the above and see what you find...then we'll debate!!!! Would you thin it? Answer....Nope!!!! |

All-Right-ee then. :) |
My philosophy:
Do whatever you need to stay balanced. |

Did I thin it.......a couple times.... Mostly erratic tho. ... K downhill lie.....you are talking about when water would run towards the target, right? |
Didn't work..Must not be true then...Or..you've got a compensated stroke..that is "Xed" ....Tongzilla had the best anser..balance...How does the earth's gravity affect the human center of gravity...a downhill lie ....gravity will pull it downhill...what is the counter balance of this pull of the earth's gravity...just to get back to 50/50...to the right...I think I'm right on this one...Sorry....I've used more than just a few tries on this..Try teaching golfers of all levels from "beginning hack" to PGA Tour Players for the past 17 years...and I competed myself...keeping your weight down the hill will cause you to hit low and right and yes..thin ....It's really too bad ..because the only proof in the pudding would be to have the golfer on "force plates' and watch how the 13 major joints adjust for the uneven lies"
Plus I would love to see Mac's reaction and Mike Hebron's reaction when you tell them that it doesn't work!!! Nothin Personal...just need to take a larger sample before you reject the "Null Hypothesis"....And Reject the Claim.... It's all about learnin around these parts... |
Didn't see this...
Compensated stroke that is "Xed"....? Alrighty then.... .... (I like XXX movies....no??......no????) ... KK no need to go all out into debate mode already...take er easy.... ....very nice credentials etc. etc. I know you know more than me (honestly).... I understand you teach and all that.....didn't work for me tho....you really seem to be adimant....I will give it another try. ... You think Mac would yell at me if I put my thoughts out there? Doesn't sound like a guy I'd want to take a single lesson from. |
Makes sense to 'start' with the weight uphill for a downhill shot, and then let gravity do its thing through impact. I suspect in your testing you tried to 'keep' the weight uphill.
Very useful for downhill sand shots to 'fall' through the shot and step through (A trick Ted showed me for severe downhill sand shots) |
