Broken toe, out for six weeks

I broke my right big toe last week playing softball and am waiting to have minor surgery done so that they can put in a wire while it heals.

In the meantime, I'm sidelined. I can't even hit balls at the range. So I was wondering if there's anything you folks can think of that I can do while I recover so that I don't lose my swing altogether. I'd hate see all my hard work and Ldeit's teachings go to waste.

Basic Motion is the Answer!

Chip. Chip and pitch your brains out. I bought a little mat and a net, and chip off my front stoop onto my neighbors lawn. It's made a huge difference in my game. People I'm partnered with now comment on it all the time. If you master Homer's cut lob(demoed by Yoda in the video files) by the time you're healed, you'll have taken a huge step.

It may sound odd - but just visualize. See yourself making a good motion (Appleby for example). 'Play' a round at your home course in your minds eye.

Imagination and visualization are very powerful learning tools. Very powerful.

Why do you think there are commercials on TV? Powerful, because many times people are unware just how much the visuals alter their habits.

I sure wish Appleby or Tiger (from 2000) would do a Sybervision type dvd.

Lynn and Ted should! ;)

How are your putting stats?....with 6 weeks of putting practice you could shave major strokes off your game. Practice short putting drills like Phil Mick and you could become deadly accurate from 3-5 feet.

Practice your :
Grip
Hinging
Roll procedure
Wristcock
Basic motion
Flying wedges
Extensor action
You can do all the above sat on a stool. If you can stand get one of those foam balls and chip against a wall-if you are accurate the ball comes back!
Good luck and a speedy recovery:eyes:
