Hip Motion as it relates to hinge action and ball flight

Can someone please give me a layman's breakdown of how hip motion relates to hinge action and ball flight.

Ex: A swingers hip motion(Rotational/with an angled hinge, will result in an block or slicing ball flight.

A hitters hip motion(lateral) with an angled hinge will typically result in a fade.

etc. etc.

The reason I ask is that I struggle with mixing components. I have a tendency to really fire my hips, which is not a good thing for a hitter. I'm guessing if you have a rotational hip motion, you must employ a horizontal hinge, or you'll never get the club squared up???

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
