Tiger Woods preshot routine
Those 3-4 half swings he performs on tee before hitting it. I guess there are a number of ways to interpret them.
What are your intrepretation, i.e. what is he rehearsing? |
Looks to me like he is focused on the feel of his right forearm :)
Very much the feel of a split grip drill (from hip high back to followthrough) and also visually looks to my eye like the feel that the figure 8 strap gives in that same area (hip high back to follow through). If he plays a fade all the time, a very solid move. If he wants to draw it, he needs some finish swivel IMO and/or a slightly stronger left hand position. He is very 'right sided' in this move, and needs to be given his setup. It looks to me like he is putting clubface control in the right hand and not maintaining his left wedge as well as he had in 2000. Those misses way right are the direct result of a mis-aligned left hand grip - not taking the grip at impact fix. The times he maintains the left wedge - fore right. When he isn't going all out on a swing and he has good Rhythm, he can maintain the right wedge and uses the right hand for clubface control. |
