I had Lasik myself a few months ago and playing golf within a week is no problem except for bunkers. Because sand/dust etc is a no no for freshly lasered eyes so it very easy to quit on Bunker shots.

Oakley M Frame wrap around shades are a good idea as your eyes will be sensitive to light and they will also protect your eyes against dust.

Hope the rest of the season goes well for you

Good luck with the Lasik---a bunch of my patients have had it and loved it. Certainly worked for some golfer named Woods. Since you'll be there I'll try to cancel office hours for a day and come down from Pittsburgh to watch you on Thur or Fri. (ok, and Michelle Wie as well). If not I'll get down for the weekend. My understanding is that Joe Hardy, who is the billionaire owner of 84 Lumber, takes VERY good care of you players. I've played there a few times and it is spectacular. Was in the player's locker room and walked around in awe---no expense was spared. I think it cost more than my house. I'm sure they have transportation set-up to get you from the airport to the course (about 50 miles away), but if you have any problems and need some emergency help just give me a call on my cell 412-719-9351 and I'll do what I can. Later, Dave

Best thing I ever did for my eyes... sometimes I forget I ever needed glasses. It is an odd experience, but not painful and really only about a day before you can see rather well. Just feels a bit like you have sand in your eye for about the first few days.

Force yourself to use the eye drops for the first several months, it really makes a difference.

John are you seeing better now? I know how much trouble your eyes have been giving you, hopefully they won't bug you anymore, because your eyes can really stop you from playing your best if they are giving you problems.

I don't know if Russ told you but I have just recently started having a lot of trouble with my left eye. I can hardly see out of it, and the doctor said we have to wait a year before he can do some work on it.

Good luck.

Bummer. Read yesterday that John was ill and appears to have pulled out of the tournament. Had hoped to see him this Saturday. And Brian Gay withdrew earlier in the week. Guess I'll check David Toms and Heath Slocum this weekend as they have some TGM connection.
