Swingers & Hitters Getting Older

Do Swingers or Hitters lose their games faster with age?

Hitters....lose it with age....

Revision....

3 barrel hitters....lose it with age....don't know first hand with 4 barrel hitters! :)

Yes....fitness definitely needs to be address as we get older.....swingers or hitters. However, to perform at your best at any age....you should have a daily fitness routine.

That is probably too hard to answer since with age so much changes

Flexibility

Muscle Mass

Hearing

Eye Sight

Reflexes

etc.

Given a golfer's desire to stay fit, live a good (dull) life, it would probably be equal. Gary Player seems to have held up well.

Hitters would have to work harder to maintain the same level in older age than Swingers only because of the physical attributes that are effect with age.

Look at Sam Snead, he had flexibility but yet in older age lost some and he was a swinger. Hitters such as Arnold Palmer who took fitness very seriously when he hit his 50s lost it also.

Age is no one's friend, but the alternative is even worse.

I would agree, hitters have a harder time as they get older. My dad is a good example - pure hitter, quite 'textbook', 3-7 hdcp who is slowing down a bit (hip problem) and you can see it in his motion pretty clearly. He's having surgery sometime in the fall for it. This compared to some of the old timers who I've see with a more pure swinging motion, they've still got it, amazing to see really.
