Getting older than dirt. (67). When I over do it before playing golf
I yank old bad shot left. Just trying to learn TGM. All my bad shots
are left yanks especially when I am sore,never right. ???WHY??.

I'm no professional (we have plenty here on the forum) but I would venture to say that "yanks" to the left would indicate the path of your golf club is to the left.

Perhaps try to focus on your club path moving "down, out, and forward".

And keep hanging around the forum and read your book - you DO have the book don't you? :D

Hi Bob,

First of all you are not old and are never too old to learn the wonders of The Golfing Machine. Left shots happen because that is where the clubface is looking when the ball leaves it (separation). Understanding that impact and separation are two different points will help. You need to impact the inside aft quadrant of the ball, not the back of the ball. Also, remember that you are trying to drive the ball into the ground (the club going to low point after the ball is impacted) not into the air. Both can be accomplished by having your hands further forward at impact.

Why the lefts are happening could be a number of reasons: a bent left wrist at impact, an over-roll, club-head throwaway.....

Are you a swinger or a hitter?

Where are you physically sore when this happens?

Thanks Drewit, believe you were correct in you assesment. I was
tired from working in the yard all day before in addition to poor
wrist position.

Went to the driving range today and corrected the wrist problem in
addition to being not tired. Hit the ball well.

The Golfing Machine has all, an I repeat all the answers (pertaining to golf), we just have to know where to look for them. You have come to the right place :D .

Almost everything, it doesn't tell me how to do the Tiger Woods bouncing ball trick or how to spin the club after the finish too look cool...loll

At the finish use the #3 pressure point and spin the clubshaft clockwise rotating the sweetspot around the shaft! With a little practice you to can achieve the elusive club spin :D

The bouncing ball trick takes many idle hours in the golf shop or on a public golf course during a six hour round!!!
