Video of Fort Knocks and Bagger Hitting

By popular demand, here is the moment of truth for yours truly.
In my defense, this day was the first time I've made a serious attempt at hitting. But as you will see, Ted sets the bar! 8)

I have no idea the distance to the fence, from my viewpoint it's somewhere beyond the curvature of the earth.

The cast of characters are Trig in the foreground, Ted, Lynn, and I.

Enjoy! :D

Ah, Lynn little coaching there of getting the hands out past the ball..brings back memories.

I dont' know but it look like Ted slacked off a bit on his shot? :o

He does manage to HIT it long.....

Thanks for posting this! Great to see Ted "NUKE" it again. I'm glad I have a visual of his set-up from a face-on view. It's only been a month since I was there and my brain had forgotten how "left" it appears. And don't sell yourself short Bagger---your swing looked pretty good for a first time "hitter." Remind me never to play you for any serious money!
Have a good one boys! Dr. Dave

No backing off

I don't think Ted had any back-off on that shot. He crushed it off the range. Bagger and I didn't even bother to try to out drive him.

I really like that view of his action. You can really see the hitter's carry back with frozen right wrist.

A Swingers Impression of Hitting

The above video was shot 7 days ago and Yesterday I decided to play my home course using the hitting stroke from putt to drive. I have NEVER Hit while playing. OK, maybe a chip or two but I'm so paranoid about integrating any hitting into my swing I have avoided it whenever possible.

The biggest shock for me is I was hitting par 4 approach shots from fairway locations much, much closer to the green than I ever have been, and I've never had a distance problem. I mean half wedge shots to the stick. I'm still in shock.

Second epiphany:

I found myself lining up my drives as accurately as I line up my putts. The thought process is usually "which side of the fairway do I want to be on", and instead it became, "what specific line do I want to take and how will the ball react when it lands there". The ball was on a guide wire and it went directly down the line I planned.

Really amazing stuff.

These are the early impressions of hitting and I know I have to refine it and get more comfortable using it. But I thought I would share first hand the impressions from a swingers perspective. I realize there a many swingers that might have tried hitting and it doesn't work for them. I probably have a natural affinity for it. Homer said, "If you are strong Hit, if quick Swing". I'm a bit of both and prefer the freedom of swinging, but I have to say, TGM gives you options and if you can execute more than a few, it gives you a lot more tools in your bag.

The video is up in The Gallery as well I had a hard time accessing it through the link above. It's posted under LBG Reality TV.

The Line of Compression

That brings back memories!

I thought I was "hitting" it pretty well that day. A few nice 275 yard pops.

Then Ted steps up and the sound of his driver told the whole story. Seemed like the ball stayed in the sky forever.

Most of our gallery links have stopped working because over multiple Linux and gallery upgrades, the file system has changed. It's a lot of work to go back and redirect all those links.

The good news is that all of the videos are still in the gallery.
