Swingers and hitters among the pros

I'd much appreciate if someone would post a list of big name pros and whether they are hitters or swingers. I guess Arnold Palmer would be the #1 no-doublt hitter of all time and that there are also pros who pretty much hit or swing every other shot or depending on the situation. Leave the shortgame out. Who are the typical hitters and swingers of our time and the past 30 years or so?

I'd be having that list next to me during the coming tournaments & look for different things in the procedure as I watch.

I don't think you can always tell by looking. For example, if you watch Yoda hit and swing it's VERY hard to tell even on slo-mo video which procedure he's using.

We have video of Bagger hitting/swinging and it's almost impossible to tell the differenct unless you really break it down in slo-mo and compare frame by frame. And even then you better have a trained eye! :)

Trig....

You can really tell with Stadler and Azinger that their hitters.....I believe Stadler uses a 4 Barrel Hit with his woods especially his driver and he appears to 3 barrel hit with his irons. Look to Azinger for a hitter who uses standard hip action...pivot controlled hands.

I agree with you that sometimes it's obvious.

Is it a good idea for a swinger to hit the short irons (say, pw-6 iron)? Also, do swingers also swing wedges, or do they hit them?

I love swinging my long irons...but I prefer to hit my short ones.
Here's a topic on another forum about it:
