Manual Path Adjustment

I've been trying to fix some shanks. Let's just say that I am excellent at leading the hostel into the ball in an above-plane motion. So we've been working on some things like my grip and backswing. So far, I have gotten very good at getting into a perfect position at the top--I o back on plane and stay there.
Here's my problem. Coming down, I can't seem to automatically get the club on plane. Everyone says "turn your lower body and it automatically shallows out the club." Well, I can't do that. Startdown waggles also throw me above the plane. The only way I can shallow the swing is by manually moving the club down and back (behind me) with my hands and arms coming down. Is this permissible with TGM? Also, I seem to lose my right arm bend when I do this-is there a way to maintain this bend? Thx.

Have you tried plane tracing exercises using a flashlight or laser?
