What does "Let the Motion make the Shot" mean to you?
I think this statement: Let the motion make the shot is one of the better Mr. K quotes.

What does it mean to you?

smooth and heavy
target focus, the picture in my mind
not 'doing' but allowing

flowing with the force

a nice way to say 'don't be ball bound'

There is no "I" in team, but there is a "me".
Take care of the cause and the effect will take care of itself.

The emphasis is on you, what you do and how you do it. Control what you can control, let everything else happen. The ball flight will take care of itself.

I like that.....don't be ball-bound.

...

Don't be target-bound either.

You already checked your aim in pre-shot, aimed the clubface and your body at the target when you got over the ball...

Make the motion.

I believe Homer was teaching to trust the components and procedures of your Golfing Machine to create the shot at hand.

Bobby Jones wrote that one of the best pieces of advice that he ever recieved was "Hit 'em Hard, they'll land somewhere". This entire phrase encapsulates so much and is a gem. Too many bad players become mesmorised by a target and steer instead of really confidently driving the clubhead all the way down and trusting their stroke or procedure for the shot at hand to hit the ball towards the target.

This is what I think Homer mean't although I think the Bobby Jones one is punchier...lol

Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words..

When im playing well, I establish my plane line and visualise the angle of approach. I set the machine, maintain a stationary head and keep good balance and just trace back to the top and smash pp3 via pivot thrust (swinger) through the plane line knowing that its going to 'land somewhere'.

You have to get rid of the target from your mind - just the plane line and the procedure. Machines don't think of targets, they just execute the motion thats going to send it there...
