Henrik Stenson
Swedish guy. Currently leading the WGC-NEC Invitational. Hope he'll do well. Would like to see him head-to-head with Tiger. He is amazingly long. I think most guys on the European Tour would say he is the longest on that tour.

On the Euro tour stats you wont see that. Reason is that he seldom need to use his driver.

Someone recently asked him the question how he can hit it that far with such an effortless swing.

His answer:
- Effortless? I use every single muscle in my body.

Early tournament stats

Stenson
Driving Distance 346.4
Driving Accuracy 75.0%
GIR 70.0%

Woods
Driving Distance 339.8
Driving Accuracy 50.0%
GIR 61.1%

That's Interesting...

Mike Austin and Victor Schwamkrug have also said the same thing...

Schwamkrug is amazing. I would never bet agains him in Long Driving. Stenson has done some of that too, but I do not know his numbers.

Stenson has been working with Peter Cowan who has to worked with Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke . There was a show where he discussed the changes he had made to Stenson's backstroke. i can't remember what the changes were .

Just a side note on Cowen, how many times was it mentioned on the British coverage of the PGA last week that Bjorn is now working with Simon Holmes and not with Cowen any longer?

And so it goes
Two straight hardwares. Won Dubai last he played (beating Ernie by 1, Tiger by 2) and then the WGC matchplay this weekend after defeating Ogilvy in the final.

Neither Ogilvy or Stenson brought their A game today, but Stenson will be the one sleeping well and grooming to his confidence.

He'll be ranked 5 or 6 in the world this week. Not bad.

Still need to prove himself game in the majors, though.

Time will tell.

Did you catch the part where Gary Koch or whatever his name is was commenting on his "right forearm" prior to starting his swing . . .

Sounded like he was setting his wedges . .. they said he got his clubface too open at address . . .

Looked like Horizontal Hinging to me . . . I love the dude's motion. The showed one of them sooooper slooooo moez on him . .. his alignments were great. The release looked sequenced to me . . .seems like some people were trying to put him in the hittin' box. I didn't see that.

There were some great motions to watch on Sunday with Campbell (love his motion) and Trevor whatshisname.

Anybody catch Stenson's drive on #7 during his Saturday match? 357 yard hole and he flew it pin high, then the ball spun and stopped just a couple feet from where it landed, 6-7 ft. from the hole. Yes, he lost the hole, but it was an unbelievable drive.
