I'll be there Friday (with Bambam in tow!).

Colonel -- and any other interested Patrons and LBG Members -- let's meet at noon behind the Clubhouse near the big magnolia. PM me if you can make it. The 'mento cheeses will be on me!

P.S. The Big Magnolia ain't exactly the Empire State Building in the movie An Affair to Remember (or Sleepless in Seatle)...

It's better!

For 'minter cheeze samiches (note plural) I'll push HARD for Friday tickets.

You're not jumpin' the fence this year right? You may be better off with a yellow jumpsuit and a trash stabber . . .

What I Meant To Say...

You know...I just re-read that post and now can see where others may have gotten totally the wrong idea. Not so!

On my Wedding Day, I was literally stabbing trash (in uniform at age 20, 5 a.m., June 7, 1967, on Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho). I was wearing a hooded parka (not a yellow jumpsuit), but I was definitely stabbing trash. I shouldn't have been there -- Alan Sopinski had the duty but got sick...ah, to heck with it, it's a neat story, but not here. The good news is that, 39 years later, these two 'kids' -- three children and four grandchildren later -- are still together.

I was dealt a great hand.

Trash stabber and all.

Lynn,

There is no way that anyone should ever think otherwise. You are far too nice a man for folks to consider that you would make such an ingracious implication.

OK guys, need some help here... I actually had to lookup pimento cheese sandwich to figure out what it is was! I guess I've heard of it, but have definately never seen or eaten one. Sounds tasty, is this a southern thing?

I've said it before...

The only way I will watch The Masters on TV is with my green paper-wrapped 'mento cheese samiches close by. It just wouldn't be The Masters without'em!

I make The Pilgrimage only every few years or so, and when I do, I always load up on the green wrappers. I mean, you just can't find'em for sale down at the local Kroger or Piggly Wiggly!

Now, 'mento cheese is 'mento cheese. But those green wrappers...

Augusta in April may be the only place and time in the world they exist! They paint everything green down there!

My motto?

Get'em where you can, when you can!

Dude . . . You have been hoodwinked by your Mommy or somebody. You ain't never had no minter' cheeze samich? The horror . . .

I can imagine you've never had livermush and mayonaise slapped on white bread? Have you ever poured a pack of peanuts in a Grap Sodee? Ever had a fried twinkie? Potted Meat and crackers? Pickled Eggs? PB and nanner samich? Pinrose and saltines?

You gotta broaden them culinary horizons. Your heart won't love you but man your tastebuds . . . LIVE.

Potted meat and crackers?

Pinrose and saltines?

Hall-of-Fame post, Colonel 12 Piece.

Maybe in another wing (no pun intended)...

But Hall of Fame nonetheless!
