Will Duval Get'er Done?
What do you think about the resurgence of David Duval? I hope this guy can get back to playing close to the level he did. I'm glad to see him at the "chunky but funky" body type again. Gotta pull for a guy carrying a little extra around.

Anybody seen his motion lately? I understand he has gone back to the old grip?

Funny how people perceive him as "more human" since he's gone to rock bottom.

I always liked the dude.

Ya I like the guy too. Started liking him after one of his press conferences (I think it was last year....)- he basically just spoke his mind, didn't really care what anyone thought....but at the same time, wasn't really a jerk. I just thought it was cool.

He's serious on the course but who cares....prolly just means he's competitive. I don't like to talk to my opponents really when I'm playing either....unless they're already friends.

on his way
i think dd will get back maybe not to #1 but he will win again.i talked to him in hawaii.he looks better now that he put on a few pounds.his golf swing really hasnt changed that much.trust me when i say that being humbled puts everything into perspective.. i have been there.it is tough coming back from injuries.you can never take away what david has done.he still has it in him to be successful.time will tell,i hope he does get it together.he was pretty impressive in the late 90s

TODD

Right . . . James Todd Smith = Ladies Love Cool James = Uncle L = L.L. Cool J

Gotta love L.L. I'm partial to the early stuff during the Rock the Bells era.

D.D. to L.L.

DD's Epiphany...
...saw the press conference with him last year--said he was on the plane back from The Open, looked down at the Jug and thought to himself "Is this it? This is what its all about?". And shortly there after it all came tumbling down.

Man, I remember following his group a few yrs ago at the Buick Classic, Westchester CC--he was with Sergio, can't remember the third--might've been J.J. Henry. It was painful to follow the group, DD just emitted this ugly, angry dark mood the whole time (this was before the "fall"). It was like a twosome with Sergio and Henry--they would walk along, chat, Sergio actually stood mid-fairway on a mound on one of the par fives so Henry could "guesstimate" the line of his 3w to the green.

Its not like Serg and Henry were doing a "Brokeback Mountain", just a couple of guys playing golf willing to lend a hand. DD just kept to himself, away from everyone, even his caddy and just basically scowled.

I know DD's been thorugh a lot with his brother's childhood, failed bone marrow transplant and more recently his failed engagement. I hope he can keep sorting through stuff and fnd some happiness, and his game.
