remember the pivot is trained to permit not cause, i would think you are on a fine track. sounds very promising! monitor the hands? just monitor the hands and look look look at what they do to get that 'opening left hip'. training another component and trying to get the feel of the hands to permit that training is the goal in my view. step by step.
