Hitting or Swinging?
A couple of questions...

I lift up the club using the right forearm takeway but do not swivel i.e. keep the clubface looking at the ball. On the downstroke in my mind (and my 'feel') is that right arm pushing down on a straight line delivery path to the inside of the ball

Does this mean that i'm hitting?... looks like swinging to me on video but my 'feel' is all right arm

If i'm not swivelling on the backstroke and hitting the ball straight does that also imply angle hinging is being used ?

I feel yah.
It happened to me 2 months back.. the exact thing that your described. I hit it plenty far but still its wrong . Everything i do is trying to do a HIT , push it hand facing plane short backswing etc..and it appear to be swing. I am a natural swinger . period.

the swing at that point of time.

I was told its still hitting. as long as your forearm is thrown or pushed and centrifugal force is neglected. so its Switting. therefore its swinging with an angled hinge. but manipulated swinger thus still a light draw on the swing.

Swinging is Pull mainly and mastering centrifugal throwout. NOT casting mind you.

straight line and arc approach is another matter.

Sounds like it to me.

"Clubface stays looking at the ball" is a good indicator of angled hinge action, especially when accompanied by "no roll" into and past impact. Pick it up with the right forearm, clubface stays looking at the ball, load the right arm up like a spring, and then smash it back down.

What kind of ball flight do your misses tend to have? Falling to the left or falling to the right?

I don't think i've ever faded the ball intentionally... ballflight is usually very straight or slight draw. Most of the misses for me tend to be plane related - usually a push followed by a pull hook as over compensation !

If you are truly angled hinging then misses - or even well-struck shots - are going to tend to fall to the right. From what it sounds like, you've got a lot of Hitting components in your stroke but there are some Swinging ones lingering as well.

This is why you say it "looks like Swinging" on video and why your misses are to the left. Work on making a less aggressive downstroke pivot. The pivot should be more pulled along for the ride rather than used as the driving force behind the stroke. For hinging, feel like the emblem on your glove is driving down and out and stay facing the target through impact. To you, it may feel like you're really "holding the face off" but that's only because you're letting it roll a little too much right now. Once you get a really good sense of the clubface you'll be able to feel EXACTLY what is going on with your left wrist.
