Yes- was hoping to see Lynn in the background but realized he was swamp bound.

Lets hope BG gets some TV time with a club in his hand.

Rd 1 LA Nissan Open
Things are warming up here in LA....Padraig Harringtion is the leader after round one with an incredible 8 under par 63. Phil Mick is T 2nd shooting an impressive 5 under par 66. BG opened with a +2 so we're heading north on the 405 in the early AM and hope to be on the course by 8am. BG has an early start time so we will be pulling heavy for BG to shoot low in Rd 2. Stay tuned for details of Rd 2.

Reporting live in LA for LBG Sports....

Pacific Palisades Weather Forecast for Friday's Rd 2

High: 77°F RealFeel®: 80°F
Sunny much of the time; pleasantly warm in the afternoon

Have a nice day at the Nissan, and please pull a little for my fellow dane, Anders Hansen, who needs a better 2nd round to make the cut as well.

Friday's Round
Despite not playing the weekend...I witnessed an incredible round of golf by Brian Gay on Friday....we walked every hole of the course with Brian's group...saw every shot Brian took...and can tell everyone that Brian is a top notch professional golfer in every sense. He is a cool player with great determination. There is no quit that I could see even after a bad break on a par 3. Missing the cut is tough especially when it is by one shot. But lessons are learned... experience is gained especially from adversity.

Riveria CC is a superb test of golf...very tough holes...some very small & mounded greens that require accurate placement of approach shots. BG has those shots in his bag....I saw them. TV does not do justice to the contours and undulations on greens. I also never realized the elevation change on 18 from tee box to fairway...it is much more than you can visualize on TV.

The year is just beginning...BG has all the tools...it just a matter of time.

Thanks for your follow-up post, Hector. Sounds like you and Chris had a fun day!

Brian called this afternoon. He was sitting on the plane heading to this week's Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun and asked me to say "Hello." He was impressed that you were waiting for him when he showed up on the range at 6:50 a.m. -- -- and was glad he got to meet you. I also told him about your post this morning, and he appreciated your comments.

The Mayakoba is a new PGA TOUR tournament being played opposite the WGC -- Accenture Match Play Championship. It is being held at the Mayakoba resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and will be televised all four days by The Golf Channel.

For more, click on www.mayakobagolfclassic.com and http://www.pgatour.com/2007/tourname...oba/index.html.

We'll keep up with the goings-on from here.

Good luck, Brian. Go get'em!

Out of curiosity . . . how big of a moron does a gallery member (patron) have to be in order to go running after a wayward tee shot to the point that they have to dance in order to not step on the ball?

I could teach a dog not to run after a golf ball, what is the excuse for these middle-age golf fanatics?

What can someone gain from running after a golf ball anyways?

I suspect these folks want to stand close-up to the player so they might get on TV--and I agree, it's stupid
