Ernie dumps Titleist
Word on the Street, Ernie Els has backed out of his agreement with club/ball manufacturer Titleist just before Titleist was to ship out their spring promotional material for the new Pro V1's, staring you know who. Titleist has never believed that a player should use their equipment if they don't want to.

Els is expected to sign with Callaway, but at his expense to rework all Titleist promo material, both written and television. Good thing he has a fat checkbook.

Its a done deal. Ernie is sporting a Callaway bag, logos on his shirt, hat as well as playing the HX Tour 56 ball and the FT5 driver.
Basically Ernie was in his last year of the Titleist deal which had an option of it being bought out and when he signed for Callaway, they bought the final year of the deal out.

So- now who is Mr. Titleist?

I have never like Callaway even though I still use my Hogan clubs. Pre-dated of course.

I would assume it would be Adam Scott as he is young and fresh. Titleist might be wanting to shift their market focus towards the younger players maybe and have Scott as their main man would help but in saying that, rumour has it Adam Scott's contract is due to end later this season too.......
