I say put all 7 editions on CD!!! Let's see Homer's analysis from start to finish!!!
Delaware Golf
there may have been misinformation or incorrect information in previous editions. Why would you want to read something Homer struck from the next edition? If it's important, it made it through to the next edition. If it wasn't important or was wrong, it got axed.
Simple as that.
Sorry, Robot Buddy R2DU,
Per my post above (and others) several Real Gems and Really CorrectInfo were struck from previous editions. And only for financial / spacesaving reasons, not for accuracy. Also, seeing how his thinking ever soslightly changed, e.g., in the Plane Angle area and Shoulder Turn area, isvaluable. You'd be surprised at the number of things Homer thought were clearas could be to everybody, but were in fact clear only to him.
As an example, he published in the 2nd edition only the model of 1-L. Hethought everybody could see that it produced only the ideal applicationof linear forcce (2-C-1) and also, that there was no need to explain the 21points we now have. To that extent, of course, the current edition is by farthe most valuable, but still...it was that "everybody already seesthis" kind of thinking -- call it a layman's perspective, if you will, that was ever so slightly lost.
There were no radical changes in his thinking. From Day One -- actually the 1stedition was published 28 years after Day One -- his concepts were largelycomplete. Over time, however, his Incubator continued to work and certain newthings emerged or at least crystalized, e.g., the Three DimensionalBackstroke and Downstroke and their execution via the Magic of the RightForearm and Elbow Action. But...seeing it evolve does have value. It's likestarting college at the senior level versus as at PhD level, but it doeshave value. Promise!
Also, some of the science got way, way out there in the later editions and someof the simple explanatory layman's language was left on the cutting room floor.
It is helpful to see the transition. Especially from the earliesteditions.
