Project X shafts, anyone?
I am thinking about reshafting with Project X 5.5's. I am a hitter with a swing speed of 115 driver and 90 with the 5 iron. Does anyone have any feedback on these shafts? Currently I have DG S300's. Thanks

Mike

They are a constant weight, high kick shaft that will lower your ball spin. They are hard to fit, you need to get the right flex and they will perform well. However they feel very different as they are VERY butt stiff. So some people "think" they play stiff, when its just the feel.

Try and get demo's before you buy.

If you're interested, i have a set of 6.5s that were soft stepped twice to equal a 6.0 flex that i'm selling for cheap. They are parallel tip and it is a set of 11 shafts

Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely try to demo some of the different shafts before I make a decision. How is the distance control and accuracy of the X's?

Thanks

Mike

They have laser like accuracy due to the decreased spin....however you have to be able to compress a ball pretty well to take advantage of the lower spin.

They also flatten out your ball flight, they will initially launch high...but then the lower spin will flatten the ball flight instead of keep upshooting into the sky

My swing speed gets up to 108MPH and I play PX 5.5 soft stepped once. They don't feel like other shafts . The ball gets up quickly , has a flat apex and drops like a stone and stays close to it's pitch mark. I find the shaft very good in the wind and very accurate. I suggest you experiment with the 5.5 6 and 6.5 . Soft and hard stepping changes the feel. I have a set in Thailand that were not soft stepped and these feel much harsher than my sof stepped UK set (Same clubs). When I got fitted at Precisiongolf.co.uk using Flightscope and Hotstix I was recommended soft stepped 5.5s. To me these FEEL about the same as the S 300 DGs I was using before . 5.5s straight in felt a bit stiffer.
